#JulieAndrews has confirmed she will not return for “The Princess Diaries 3” alongside Anne Hathaway.

The 90-year-old actress told InStyleMagazine that the film’s creative team spent much of last year asking her to reprise her role as Queen Clarisse Renaldi, but she ultimately turned down the offer.

“I think I’m retired, really, would be about the best description for that,” Andrews said. She admitted it was “very, very hard to say ‘no,’” but explained that she felt she’d already “had a wonderful ride” with the franchise and believes the third film can “flourish very well” without Queen Clarisse.

Andrews, who is now living with arthritis, said she mostly prefers to stay out of the public eye these days. However, she hasn’t completely stepped away from entertainment. She continues to do voice work, including narrating “Bridgerton” as Lady Whistledown, which she can record from her home studio. “I do it mostly to keep my brain alive,” she said.
