Boca Raton Championship Wrestling has suspended Steve Maclin indefinitely and vacated its Heavyweight Championship.

"Effective immediately, Steve Maclin is no longer recognized as the BRCW Heavyweight Champion," said BRCW Chairman and CEO Matthew H. Maschler. The company says the suspension is for conduct detrimental to the organization, citing an incident during an unannounced appearance by Maclin on The Matthew Mania Podcast. BRCW considers the matter closed.

The fallout reshapes Sunday's Summer Smash card in Boca Raton. Maclin was scheduled to defend against Matt Riddle, who earned the shot by beating Joe Coffey at BRCW Vegas Vacation. That match is canceled, and the vacant title will instead be decided in a Fatal Four-Way between Riddle, Stallion Rogers, Matt Taven and Fulton. Fulton is a former BRCW Heavyweight Champion, Taven challenged for the title at Birthday Bash in March, and Rogers is a former BRCW Tag Team Champion.

Summer Smash takes place Sunday, August 16 at The Studio at Mizner Park, with five championships featured across the card. Tickets are at bocaratonwrestling.com.
