DEADLY NIGHT IN BRIDGEPORT

A 46-year-old man is dead after a shooting at Bridgeport’s P.T. Public Housing Complex early Sunday. Police responded around 1 a.m. and found the victim outside Building 21 with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing.

STABBING NEAR PALMER FIELD

Middletown police are investigating a Friday night stabbing near Palmer Field. An adult man suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds to his neck. Police believe the victim and a 59-year-old suspect had been drinking together before an argument erupted and the suspect allegedly stabbed him. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for injuries.

SEARCH AT LAKE QUINSIGAMOND

A major search unfolded Sunday at Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury after first responders received a report of a possible drowning near Sunset Beach around 3:45 p.m. Police and firefighters searched the water for hours. As of 8 p.m., the person had not been found.

DOMINICAN PRIDE TAKES OVER MANHATTAN

Thousands packed Midtown Manhattan Sunday for the 44th annual National Dominican Day Parade. Sixth Avenue came alive with Dominican pride, traditional merengue, Caribbean sounds, dancers, costumes and floats celebrating culture and community.

NYPD MOURNS FORMER CHIEF

Former NYPD Chief Anthony Izzo died after being found unresponsive in a backyard pool at his Stony Brook home Friday evening, according to Suffolk County police. A family member called 911. Izzo was pulled from the water and rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
