## Caption

They always say it’s about the journey and not the destination, and they may have a point. When I’m choreographing a musical, it usually starts in the studio by myself or with my husband, and then I gather a group of amazing humans together for pre-production.  There we start working on the number as a whole so I can get a sense of how the movement flows and how the formation changes work with actual humans. When the show is cast and I get to put the movement on the dancers, there’s already a clear picture of what we’re aiming for instead of me seeing it in person for the first time. It also allows me to tweak as needed to highlight the dancers in the show sooner in the rehearsal process. And as much as I love the final product and sharing it with audiences, I’m so thankful for every aspect of the journey and thankful to every person that helped make the final product as beautiful and seamless as it is. 🩵 This production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is currently running at @rocky_mountain_rep and is maintained by my amazing Dance Captain @_rach_jayne_
