Des Moines is on the verge of becoming the latest home of Dutch Bros Coffee, with the first in Iowa opening Aug. 14 at 4800 S.E. 14th St., replacing a former Fazoli’s. The 986-square-foot, drive-thru-only coffee shop sits on the southwest corner of McKinley and Southeast 14th streets near Home Depot.

Dutch Bros first announced plans to open in Des Moines when the company filed paperwork with the city in September 2025. Since then, plans for new locations have cropped up from Ankeny to Waukee, with an estimated seven landing in the metro.

Each follows the classic Dutch Bros blueprint: drive‑thru only with two lanes and no indoor seating.
