Trophies go on shelves. Shelves are where accomplishments go to be forgotten.

But a wristband — a wristband goes with you. Into the gym at 6 a.m. Into tryouts. Into the game where your coach is deciding who he trusts.

If you graduated a PGC camp this summer, you didn't buy that band. You earned it. Point Guard Prep. Playmaker College. Scoring College. Point Guard College. Grad School. Every one of them says the same thing to anyone paying attention: this player spent the summer learning to think the game while everyone else was collecting highlights.

And if you're wearing the Champions band, you won something. If you're wearing the Gold Standard band — well, the people who have one don't need me to explain it, and the people who don't should ask a PGC grad what it took.

So here's your assignment, and it's easier than anything we asked of you at camp:

Update your profile. New photo — bands on the wrist, visible, no explanation needed. Put your camps in your bio next to your school and your number. You list your team. You list your position. List your education.

Because next season, when you make the read nobody else on the floor saw coming, people are going to check your profile to figure out where that came from.

Let them find the answer on your wrist.
