RELATIONSHIPS MATTER☝🏽 One of the most helpful things for my life in baseball has been building a vast NETWORK of College coaches, Evaluators, MLB scouts, and Event Coordinators🤝 I can’t even lie though, as a young coach a lot of times it was tough for me to walk up and introduce myself to a guy I never met before that had been in the game for many years prior, and had much more experience than I did. And to be honest I got Big Leagued more than a few times by some of them and that wasn’t a good feeling at all lol😑 However, I did a few things that I felt helped me a lot and might even help some younger coaches out there just starting their careers now. 1. I was brutally honest at all times about my level of knowledge and never tried to act like I knew more than I actually did about identifying and developing talent😎 2. I never tried to change who I was or fake a different personality to try and “fit in”. 3. No matter what I always came with a smile and positive energy😁 Sure there were a few coaches that looked down on me or tried to clown me because I was asking questions that were pretty elementary🤷🏽‍♂️ but overall there were way more coaches that respected my authenticity and in turn always looked out for me and recruited my players. Im grateful for all my guys that have been down since Day 1🫡 #baseball #mlb #college #relationships #myguy
