13 years ago this week, Alfonso Soriano went on one of the hottest four game runs any hitter has ever had in pinstripes.

August 13 through August 16, 2013: 13 for 18, five home runs, a double, 18 RBI, nine runs. That RBI total matched the most anyone in baseball has driven in over four games since RBI became official in 1920, and the only Yankees to ever reach it were Gehrig, Lazzeri and DiMaggio.

The context makes it better. Soriano was the player the Yankees sent to Texas in February 2004 to get Alex Rodriguez. Nine years later he came back at the trade deadline for a minor league pitcher, and while the A-Rod era was falling apart around him, he was the one carrying the offense. In 58 games as a Yankee he hit 17 home runs with 50 RBI, including 11 homers in August alone with a 1.003 OPS, at 37 years old.

He never got the credit he deserved in New York, either time around. What is the best four game stretch you have seen from a Yankee?
