🤼 Congrats to two members of our Gryphon varsity wrestling program, Nathan Hunyady and Kelyn Young, who recently impressed on the international and national stages! 🌎️ 🇨🇦⁠

🤼‍♂️ Nathan Hunyady, a Guelph native a marketing management major who will be entering his 2nd year at uofguelph in September, took home silver 🥈 (men’s 65kg) at the 2023 Junior (U20) Pan-American Championships in Chile! 🇨🇱 👏 Nathan’s father, Zoltan Hunyady, was alongside as a member of the wrestlingcanada coaching staff. Zoltan, who is a Gryphon Hall of Famer and longtime assistant coach with the U of G wrestling program, wrestled in his last Pan-Am Games back in 2003, and now enjoyed a front row seat to watch his son defeat Mexico and Puerto Rico en route to a silver medal!⁠

🤼‍♀️ Kelyn Young, a Brampton native and psychology major at U of G, took home gold 🥇 (women’s 50kg) from the 2023 Canadian U23 Championships in Laval, Quebec (May 27-28) 🇨🇦 🙌 For Kelyn, who last season was named the recipient of the Dr. Mary Beverley-Burton Award as the top female rookie across all Gryphon sports, the gold medal result means she has punched her ticket to the U23 World Championships in Finland in October! 🌎️ 🇫🇮⁠
