For the first time in the 12-year history of the OUA's "Team of the Year" award, a uofguelph men's team has received conference-wide bragging rights! The U of G men's track and field team share "Team of the Year" honours for the 2021-22 season alongside the Vanier Cup-winning Western Mustangs football team. In doing so, the Gryphons men's track and field team become just the second U of G program to be named "OUA Team of the Year" following in the footsteps of the gryphonswhockey team who also received the honour following their national championship season in 2018-19. ⁠
