Happy 35th birthday to one of the most influential rappers of his generation, Young Thug 🎂🐍

From the early ‘I Came From Nothing’ tapes to Barter 6, the ‘Slime Season’ run, ‘JEFFERY’ and ‘So Much Fun’, Thug spent the last decade-plus constantly bending what a rap voice could sound like. His unpredictable flows, melodies, ad-libs and willingness to experiment helped open the door for an entire generation of artists who came after him ⭐️

August 16th has become a pretty important date in Thug’s story too: he dropped ‘Slime Language’ on his birthday in 2018, then released ‘So Much Fun’ exactly one year later, giving him his first No. 1 album. Seven years later, and his fingerprints are still all over the sound of rap today.
