Russ is proving that an album rollout doesn’t have to live entirely on our phones🔥👇

While so much of music marketing is built around snippets, trends and feeding the algorithm, he’s been taking unreleased music directly to fans through intimate pop up listening sessions. In Austin, the first 100 fans were originally set to get inside before the turnout became big enough that groups were rotated throughout the night 👀

And it hasn’t been a one city experiment either. Russ has continued this concept internationally, including small capacity sessions in Madrid and Barcelona announced with minimal notice, with fans lining up hours beforehand just for the chance to hear the music early 🎵

There’s something refreshing about making an album feel scarce and physical again. Instead of trying to make everyone online care at once, Russ is giving a smaller group of fans an experience they’ll probably remember long after release week.

Could more artists benefit from bringing rollouts back into the real world? 💿👀
