the last year was nothing short of life changing. in so many ways, it started with a recommitment to myself in action rather than just words. the things that I put onto the internet are often just the things that I need to say to myself in the mirror, but instead of the mirror I put them here— into the nether. with that in mind, it was you all who held me accountable as I pursued becoming a greater, grander version of myself. could I have done it on my own? Yeah probably. the mental work and the commitment to growth wouldn’t have changed. But realistically WOULD I have? lol not a chance. and if I’m honest I think that level of knowing myself is what has both been the greatest challenge and biggest enabler of me becoming the version of myself I have in my head. 

if you’re in my life, I’ve probably told you to show a little agency. i mean it. i have the fundamental belief that in this day in age we have so much control over our position, our mindset, our ability to accomplish and our ability to change our circumstances. it’s some twisted mix of american optimism and by-your-bootstraps attitude. & as much as this is a central belief, there’s no substitute for the people who support you along the way. 

so, we’ve made it to the photos. this was a dinner in celebration of the way I changed my life in the last year with the people who have been the most supportive along the way. having agency is much easier when you have a safety net of supporters, people that will laugh at you while also helping to dust yourself off, and poke fun at you but also cheer the loudest when you win.
