August 11th is National Presidential Joke Day! This day recognizes the humor that can be found in the highest office of the United States. But please keep the jokes light-hearted and civil, folks.

For today, Howard letterpress printed an image from a solid type metal (lead alloy) cut that was donated to our museum a couple years ago. The cut is of the trademark logo for the Hoover vacuum cleaner company. The joke alludes to our 31st president, Herbert Hoover. This was printed with red rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was manufactured in 1852.
