Born in Wembley to a British Pakistani family, Riz has been a steward and champion for South Asian and Muslim representation. Through his music work with the hip-hop group Swet Shop Boys, Riz has delivered truth in the form of expertly-crafted lyrics and melodies. Through his acting career, Riz has transformed the media landscape, highlighting his community in films like Four Lions and creating beautiful human connections in films like Sound of Metal. Now, he brings that same perspective to his semi-autobiographical comedy series #Bait, for which he has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series.
