donovan_intraining is our athlete of the week A Muay Thai champion, boxing champion, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion, honor student, musician, and hip-hop dancer sounds like six different kids. It’s one. And he’s 12. Meet Donovan. Donovan has trained Muay Thai for seven years. He is already a two-time USA Muay Thai National Champion, two-time USA Boxing Tournament Champion, JJWL Season Champion, and member of the USA Muay Thai National Team from 2024–2026. He trains Muay Thai at Heritage Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and boxing at Savannah Boxing Gym. Outside the gym, he’s in National Junior Honor Society, plays French horn and guitar, performs with the Soundbox Hip Hop Junior Dance Team—and still makes time for playgrounds, games, and simply being 12. But what made me choose Donovan for Athlete of the Week wasn’t the length of his résumé. It was the way he keeps learning, adapting, and showing up without letting all those accomplishments take away the kid underneath them. Win or lose, same face. But behind that face is a kid doing something pretty incredible. Recently, Donovan had to start over with a new Instagram page and lost the following he had built.
