After helping build the program from the sidelines, former Bellarmine player and longtime assistant Matt Cannady takes over as Head Coach of the Knights for the 2026 season.

Cannady steps into the role following a historic 2025 campaign that saw Bellarmine capture the ASUN Gold Division Championship, record a D1-era program-best eight wins and advance to the ASUN Tournament Final. The Knights have now reached the ASUN Tournament in five consecutive seasons, advancing to at least the semifinals four times.

From playing for Bellarmine to assisting the program through its transition to Division I — and now leading it himself — Cannady’s journey has come full circle.
