Project Atlantis was a competition on a worldwide scale – and fourth-year Media & Communication Studies (MCS) student Tori Wanzama was on the winning team. 🌎

Students at the University of Guelph-Humber competed in a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) contest with universities from three other countries, analyzing how the 2024 U.S. election results would impact their fictional nation, Atlantis.

“It was really nice to talk to people my age about current events to get their insights because I feel like often most of my conversations [about politics] don't bridge the gap between small talk,” Wanzama said.

The opportunity taught students at Guelph-Humber about the impact of politics on global affairs and how to work in a culturally diverse team.
