Virginia hasn’t passed any laws regulating abortion since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.

This November, Virginia voters will consider a proposed amendment enshrining reproductive rights — including abortion access — in the state’s constitution. VPM News State Politics Reporter Jahd Khalil spoke with Caroline Legros, civics education director at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, about how we got here.
