For a British version of the query, it suggested a polite apology.

Change the nationality to Romanian, and the response reportedly shifted to warning people to watch their pockets.

Same basic question. Completely different assumption.

It’s a strange example of how AI systems can reflect cultural stereotypes hidden inside the data they learn from, sometimes without users even noticing.

And when AI-generated answers appear authoritative, those biases can become even harder to spot.
