Mould, moisture, leaks… and it’s all yours for around $800 a week. 😪 

But this video is about more than one property.
This is a part of the industry we need to keep talking about. 

With the rental market still in high demand and competition for properties so intense, viewing windows are often short and rushed. In some cases, tenants are making decisions quickly just to secure a place to live and sometimes you don’t fully see what you’re really getting until it’s too late. 

With the cost of living where it is, rents continuing to hurt and housing availability stretched, people can feel like they have no choice but to accept poorer living conditions simply because they need a roof over their head.
Tenants shouldn't be afraid to raise legitimate concerns about the home they're paying good money to live in.
And when those concerns involve water ingress, persistent dampness, mould or deterioration, they shouldn't simply become something you learn to live with.
There are good landlords and property managers out there doing the right thing.
But where genuine concerns exist, they need to be heard, properly investigated and appropriately addressed.
Sometimes an independent inspection can help put some facts behind what a tenant has been saying all along.
Awareness. Accountability. Better standards. 

“at least you've got a roof over your head” shouldn't mean accepting whatever comes underneath it.
