MB COACH BIO-AJ KIZEKAI, VARSITY FOOTBALL

AJ Kizekai, MB Athletic Director, joins the football program as the head varsity coach. AJ is no stranger to Rhode Island football. The sport became a major part of his life at the age of 10 when he joined his first youth football team in Rhode Island. While his first year wouldn’t resemble his last year of playing organized football from a performance standpoint, it allowed him to overcome adversity, taught him what could happen with hard work and humility, and provided perspective at an early age as to how team chemistry, effort, and enjoyment could lead to magical things. AJ carried those values throughout his playing career, during which he was named the RI Gatorade Player of the Year, RI Gridiron Player of the Year, RI Back of the Year, and a 1st-team All-State selection during his senior football season at St. Raphael Academy. After high school, AJ became a four-year starter at Bucknell University, where he was a four-time All-Patriot League selection, a Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team member, and nationally ranked in several categories among all active college football players. After hanging up the cleats, AJ transitioned to supporting football student-athletes from the sidelines as a coach and trainer. AJ started his coaching journey at his alma mater, Blair Academy, before moving on to Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA. Whether actively coaching or not, AJ has always been involved in the game, helping guide football student athletes in their football journey, whether he knew them or not. AJ takes great pride in that work but most importantly, helping student athletes enjoy a game that has provided so much for him beyond the on-field accolades.
As he steps into the role of head football coach at MB, AJ looks forward to the challenging moments, the fun moments, and all the other moments in between, as he works with his coaching staff to help students build the capacity to accomplish whatever they wish to achieve in life. #mbquakernation
