At the CHANEL GRAND PARFUMEUR exhibition held in Shanghai, Elva Ni had an in-depth conversation with CHANEL perfume expert and in-house perfumer Olivier Polge to learn about the story behind the brand’s new Extrait de Parfum. Polge shared that each Extrait de Parfum honours the house’s classic fragrances, intensifying the scents by amplifying their unique characteristics. By analysing the layers in 1957, Elva discovered its floral scent and the way the same perfume smells different on different people. Olivier Polge explained that layered fragrances often reveal various scents upon contact with the skin, stemming from the influence of each person’s personality on the fragrance.
