Nearly 42 cents of every dollar earned is going toward taxes 🇨🇦😳💰 

According to the Fraser Institute’s 2026 Canadian Consumer Tax Index, the average Canadian family earned $121,111 in 2025 and paid an estimated $50,721 in total taxes, equal to 41.9% of its income.

That’s reportedly more than the 36% spent on housing, food and clothing combined. The estimate includes income, payroll, sales, property, fuel and other taxes.
