## Caption

Founding member of JHS, Henry Hamra, visited Syria in July as part of the Jewish Heritage in Syria Foundation (JHS), with the support of the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF). Following the fall of the regime, JHS and Hamra have returned several times to highlight the importance of preserving and restoring Syria’s Jewish heritage, while supporting the thousands of Syrian Jews living locally and throughout the diaspora.

During his visit, Rabbi Hamra met with local leaders and got the chance to speak with French President Emmanuel Macron. We were honored to once again welcome Henry to Damascus and to join in welcoming the Syrian Jewish community home, reaffirming the importance of preserving its history, heritage, and enduring connection to Syria.

‫زار هنري حمرا، العضو المؤسس لمؤسسة التراث اليهودي في سوريا (JHS)، سوريا في يوليو/تموز في إطار أنشطة المؤسسة، وبدعم من فريق المنظمة السورية للطوارئ(SETF). ومنذ سقوط النظام، عاد حمرا ومؤسسة التراث اليهودي في سوريا إلى البلاد عدة مرات للتأكيد على أهمية الحفاظ على التراث اليهودي في سوريا وترميمه، إلى جانب دعم آلاف اليهود السوريين الذين يعيشون داخل سوريا وفي مختلف أنحاء الشتات.‬

‫وخلال زيارته، التقى الحاخام حمرا بعدد من القادة المحليين، وأتيحت له الفرصة للتحدث مع الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون. وقد تشرفنا مرة أخرى بالترحيب بهنري في دمشق، وبالمشاركة في الترحيب بعودة الجالية اليهودية السورية إلى وطنها، مجددين التأكيد على أهمية الحفاظ على تاريخها وتراثها وصلتها الراسخة بسوريا.‬
