Now, women in Montgomery County have access to specialized cardio-obstetrics care at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center.

Led by cardiologist Dr. Minhal Makshood, the new Cardio-Obstetrics Clinic supports women before, during, and after pregnancy who have heart disease, cardiovascular symptoms, or pregnancy-related heart complications.

“Early evaluation and treatment help give both mother and baby the best chance for a healthy pregnancy and delivery,” Dr. Makshood said.
