Might be the worst tweet of all-time! 😭🥀 

Back in 2018, the Atlanta Hawks posted a photo of Kevin Durant and John Collins standing side-by-side with the caption “Former MVP and future MVP.” At the time, Collins was one of Atlanta’s most promising young players and there was plenty of excitement surrounding what he could eventually become. But looking back at this post nearly a decade later… calling him a future MVP was definitely a little ambitious. 😭💀

KD, meanwhile, continued doing exactly what everyone expected. One of the greatest scorers basketball has ever seen, an MVP, multiple championships, Finals MVPs, countless All-Star appearances, and a career that has cemented him as one of the greatest players in NBA history. 🐐🔥

John Collins still carved out a successful NBA career and became a productive player, especially during his years in Atlanta, but that MVP prediction never came close to becoming reality. It just shows how quickly expectations can change for young players in the league.

NBA social media really never forgets anything either. 😂 Once you put a prediction like this on the internet, somebody is eventually coming back with the receipts.
