One of Portland’s busiest libraries reopened after a major expansion. 

The Belmont Library officially reopened on August 15. It has more than doubled in size to approximately 15,000 square feet, keeping the original 1924 brick building (last updated in 2000 and not a Carnegie building) and adding a new, two-story addition, per a release from multnomahcountylibrary 

Library patrons will find 17,000 books, DVDs and CDs, new community rooms, new art by Britt Howard and Emily Counts, updated WiFi tech and laptops, and more.
