Chinese tech company Changsha Nighthawk Intelligent Technology has developed SkyX, a biomimetic "flying fish" vehicle capable of seamlessly transitioning between flight and underwater travel.⁣
⁣
Inspired by flying fish, SkyX uses a transformable design: its wings unfold to provide lift in the air, then fold underwater to help with propulsion. It can reach speeds of up to 50 km/h underwater and fly for up to one hour.⁣
⁣
After several generations of prototypes and real-world water tests, the technology is being explored for applications including emergency rescue, ocean monitoring and defense.⁣
