This past week Paris hosted the 10th edition of the Gay Games, the world’s largest sporting, cultural and festive event open to all! 🏳️‍🌈 The squash event featured 104 players which was organized by Les Petites Frappes with the support of the French Squash Federation. The event is open to all individuals, regardless of their skill level, and welcomed men and women from 20 different nations, including Canada! Since 1982, the Gay Games have brought together people from all walks of life, without discrimination, around the values of diversity, respect, equality, solidarity, and sharing.

With sport being a medium for togetherness and inclusion, the Gay Games are #OpenToAll and offer everyone the opportunity to participate in their own way.

Caylin Edwards of Canada had a great week, coming away with the silver medal in the women’s tournament. While Canadian Majid Charania captured the silver medal as well in the men’s level D tournament.

This year’s edition of the worldwide sport and cultural event that promotes diversity and tolerance marks the 8th time squash is part of the official programme of the Gay Games. The pool of participants also demonstrates that squash is a truly intergenerational sport, as the participants’ age range is from twenties to sixties.

Paris a accueilli la semaine dernière la 10ème édition des Gay Games, le plus grand événement sportif, culturel et festif au monde ouvert à tous! 🏳️‍🌈 L'événement de squash a réuni 104 joueurs organisés par Les Petites Frappes avec le soutien de la Fédération Française de Squash. L'événement est ouvert à toutes les personnes, quel que soit leur niveau de compétence, et a accueilli des hommes et des femmes de 20 nations différentes, y compris le Canada! Depuis 1982, les Gay Games rassemblent des personnes de tous les horizons, sans discrimination, autour des valeurs de diversité, de respect, d’égalité, de solidarité et de partage.

Le sport étant un moyen de convivialité et d’inclusion, les Gay Games sont #OuvertÀTous et offrent à chacun la possibilité de participer à sa manière.

Caylin Edwards, du Canada, a connu une excellente semaine en remportant la médaille d’argent au tournoi féminin. Alors que le Canadien Majid Charania a également remporté la médaille d’argent au tournoi masculin de niveau D.

L'édition de cette année de l'événement sportif et culturel mondial qui promeut la diversité et la tolérance marque la huitième fois que le squash fait partie du programme officiel des Gay Games. Le groupe de participants démontre également que le squash est un sport véritablement intergénérationnel, la tranche d’âge des participants allant de la vingtaine à la soixantaine.
