## Caption

Today we celebrate the grand opening of the Center for African and African-American Studies (CAAAS - cubouldercaaas ) on the CU Boulder campus! This is a moment of historical excitement and will go on to facilitate impacts far greater than ourselves. I am honored to have cofounded the center alongside audreafryar , ruthhhaile , iamkaria and Dr. Reiland Rabaka. 

The center will serve as a place for black students to build community, create opportunity, enter new industries, and leave a lasting footprint on the campus and the world. 

Thank you to the hundreds of attendees who came in support of the grand opening, including Deion Sanders, President Todd Saliman, Chancellor DeStefano, the Board of Regents, Governor Polis, and more importantly the students and faculty who will be the first supporters and beneficiaries of the CAAAS.
