Our NYC Pre-Professional Contemporary Summer Intensive dancers have had the opportunity to train with faculty member Christian Denice cdenice, bringing his expansive experience as a dancer, choreographer, and educator into the studio throughout the program.⁠
⁠
A Los Angeles–born artist, Christian has performed with internationally recognized companies including Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal, River North Dance Chicago, and Andonis Foniadakis Dance Company. His extensive choreographic career has brought his work to Cincinnati Ballet, BalletX, Nevada Ballet Theatre, DanceWorks Chicago, Houston Contemporary Dance Company, and many more across the United States and internationally. Through his teaching and choreography, Christian encourages dancers to explore contemporary movement with curiosity, individuality, and intention.⁠

We are grateful to have Christian sharing his knowledge and perspective with our dancers during this summer’s intensive, and thrilled that his mentorship will continue this season as one of our Creative Movers Choreographic Initiative (CMCI) choreographers. He will work with the artists of the Joffrey Concert Group joffreyconcertgroup to create a new work premiering this February at In My Art. As our intensive moves through its final days, we are thankful for faculty like Christian who bring their experience, artistry, and creative perspective into the studio and make this training experience so meaningful for our dancers!⁠
