For a long time, I thought I needed to feel ready before I could say yes.

More money. More experience. A better plan. More confidence. More certainty that it would actually work.

But looking back at our life, I keep thinking about how much we would have missed if we had waited.

I almost didn’t meet my husband because I wasn’t ready to date again.

We bought rental properties other people thought were a bad idea. Some brought us incredibly hard seasons, but they also opened doors we never could have imagined.

We put an offer on our firehouse before we even talked to the bank.

We adopted our son before we felt financially ready.

I had already failed at trying to become a fashion blogger before we randomly started posting on TikTok in 2021. I never imagined that simply being ourselves would become what connected with millions of people.

We wrote a book without knowing how to write one. It flopped. And I’m still proud we had the courage to tell our story.

We started Airbnb during one of the hardest years we’ve had on social media. One property became five.

And two months ago, I decided to make myself a swimsuit. I had no idea if it would become a business. I just knew I wanted to try.

And somewhere along the way, I found a part of myself again.

We’ve failed. A lot.

We’ve made mistakes, lost money, changed directions and watched things completely flop.

But I would rather have a life filled with things I was brave enough to try than a life filled with things I never did because I was waiting to feel ready.

Because failing is scary.

But wondering “What if?” for the rest of your life is even scarier.

Maybe you don’t have the money yet.
Maybe you don’t have the experience.
Maybe people think you’re crazy.
Maybe you have no idea how it’s going to work.

You don’t have to.

You just have to take the next step.

Because sometimes the things that change your life don’t begin with a perfect plan.

They begin with a little courage, a whole lot of faith, and a decision to say:

“What if I just try?”

I’m so grateful for every version of me that was scared… but tried anyway! 🥹
