Scientists just used AI to design a virus that never existed on Earth.

The AI is called Evo 2, built at Stanford. It learned the language of life — trained on trillions of letters of DNA from every organism on Earth until it understood how living things actually work.

Researchers gave it one task: design a new virus that attacks bacteria, something evolution never produced. Evo 2 returned 700,000 possible designs. Scientists built 300 of them in a lab and tested them in living cells.

16 came alive- replicating, spreading, and killing bacteria exactly as predicted. Some outperformed viruses that already exist in nature.

Antibiotic-resistant bacteria kill over a million people yearly. This could become a treatment.

But Evo 2 is no longer confined to Stanford; it's public, and anyone can download it.

What should AI design next? Tell me below.
