Whether it’s seeing curious Kaja climbing or Karen on a (literal) roll, hanging with the orangutans at the San Diego Zoo is always bound to be a good time. This canopy crew loves to swing through their habitat, nap in the sun, and even share a hammock or two.

In native habitats, Sumatran orangutans are critically endangered. San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is proud to be a part of the AZA’s Orangutan SAFE program, which aims to protect and restore orangutan populations and their native habitats through public engagement, funding, and field work.
