In this clip from The Drift, veteran trader Tony Battista 45 years in the markets breaks down his personal wealth-building philosophy with host Adam Mesh.
Battista says he's spent his career building intangible businesses: trading, talking, advising. So when it comes to his own wealth, he does something simple. He takes his option profits and converts them into assets gold, silver, and mostly stocks. Not the stocks he "knows" best, but the ones he's most comfortable with.
His rule: find a stock he believes in, accumulate it, and never sell.
"Long-term wealth has been created by buy and hold," Battista said. "You can't argue with it because we're at all-time highs."
It's a philosophy that cuts through the noise of short-term trading coming from someone who has been in the game for four and a half decades.
