અમદાવાદ શહેરમાં હથિયારબંધીને લઈને પોલીસ કમિશનરનું મહત્વનું જાહેરનામું જાહેર થયું છે. 18 ઓગસ્ટથી 1 સપ્ટેમ્બર 2026 સુધી 35 પોલીસ સ્ટેશન વિસ્તારમાં તલવાર, છરી, ચપ્પુ, ખંજર, ભાલા અને લોખંડની પાઈપ જેવા હથિયારો સાથે ફરવા પર પ્રતિબંધ રહેશે. પથ્થરો કે હુમલામાં ઉપયોગી સાધનો એકઠા કરવા, જાહેર સ્થળે હથિયારો લઈ જવા અને હવામાં ફાયરિંગ કરવા પર પણ રોક રહેશે. જોકે સિંધુભવન રોડ, સેટેલાઇટ, જજીસ બંગ્લોઝ અને ગુજરાત યુનિવર્સિટી સહિત 14 પોલીસ સ્ટેશન વિસ્તારને આ જાહેરનામામાંથી બાકાત રાખવામાં આવ્યા છે. જાહેરનામાનો ભંગ કરનાર સામે કાયદેસરની કાર્યવાહી કરવામાં આવશે.
