Freediving has a way of reflecting what happens in everyday life.

Sometimes, we have the technique.
We have the skills.
We know we are safe.
We know we are capable.

And yet… we stop.

Not because we can’t go further, but because our mind creates a barrier around something that hasn’t even happened yet.

Fear of change.
Fear of the unknown.
Fear of losing control.
Fear of something that may never happen.

This is where coaching becomes much more than teaching technique.

Alice is a beautiful example. At 61 years old, she had everything she needed to reach the depth. Her technique was there, her skills were there, and physically there was no reason she couldn’t do it.

But she kept meeting the same mental barrier.

Until she crossed it.

And sometimes that is exactly what freediving teaches us: the thing standing between where we are and where we want to be is not our ability — it’s the fear we created before even trying.

A few seconds of courage can completely change the way you see yourself.

And that lesson doesn’t stay underwater. 🌊🫁

Happy 61st birthday, Alice. 🎁
