## Caption

Before Z Atrium became POST's quietest corner, this whole building was Houston's main USPS post office — built to move mail, not people. When OMA architect Jason Long reimagined the space, he pictured pulling downtown Houston into the historic structure like the tines of a giant rake, each pass carving out a distinct atrium with its own character. Z Atrium is the calmest of those cuts. Anchored by a wood-finished, zigzagging staircase built to feel like a public library or reading room, carrying people up from street level into Skylawn above.

Today that same corner is home to a coffee bar and coworking space, where the pace slows down even as the rest of the building hums around it. Same historic bones, a whole new kind of quiet. ☕🏗️
