I made an online calendar and am opening up 20-minute catchups and consultations for anyone interested! Check my bio to book 😁

In this climate, this feels like the only constructive way I can think of to feel or kick off some modicum of "better" without fully relying on commiserating. Sometimes building and being together is just as effective than alone, and that’s hard to say as someone who’s fairly introverted. Not everyone is available or keen to talk via social media platforms. Promoting my business in some ways online feels disingenuous to who I am as person and business owner.

Realizing that we're inherently in community with others also seeking community is empowering. Human warmth, connection and word of mouth are still key to survival. Since I can't take much of a work break during this holiday season, I’m trying to take my own advice when possible over these last couple weeks of 2025 and going into the new year.

Pivoting often dictates flow. On offense, maybe it's being brave to look beyond our initial periphery and try something different. On defense, sometimes that's recognizing that we're trying to protect ourselves from being exposed and hurt. Constant pivoting can feel pointless or frustrating if we feel there's no one to pass to, no clear space to move, or we keep getting hurt.

That can feel like a hard thing to do, especially when waves of grief, layoffs, underemployment and politics happen in front of us. Experiencing these and witnessing others go through the magnitude of uncertainty can be demoralizing and heart-breaking. As a startup "#entrepreneur," I have to feed or bait algorithms to be seen or see others at all. As a human, that often feels gross. And at this time of year, that burden or pariah feeling amplifies as other people we miss or businesses we hope to work with are slowing down as bills pile up.

I'm not exactly sure what else to say except that I give massive kudos to folks continuing to try. I’m constantly reminded that we're not alone, and that our talent and skills are necessary. May our fortunes change a bit for the better ❤️
