New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees officially became a Pro Football Hall of Famer on Saturday, August 8, taking his place among the greatest players in NFL history in Canton, Ohio. Brees earned the honor in his first year of eligibility, headlining a 2026 class that also featured Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, Adam Vinatieri and Roger Craig. 

Brees’ career speaks for itself. Across 20 NFL seasons, he threw for 80,358 yards and 571 touchdowns, earned 13 Pro Bowl selections and led the league in passing yards seven times. His defining achievement came with New Orleans, where he led the Saints to their first Super Bowl championship and was named Super Bowl XLIV MVP. 

More than the numbers, Brees became a symbol of New Orleans during the city’s recovery following Hurricane Katrina. Nearly two decades after arriving in New Orleans, No. 9 is now officially immortalized in Canton — a fitting ending for arguably the greatest player in Saints history.
