On this #WorldOrangutanDay, we celebrate these incredible great apes and are reminded of the importance of being Guardians of Wild by protecting orangutans and the forests they call home 🦧🌿

Species like the Sumatran orangutan are facing the continued loss of their rainforest habitat.

Are you aware? The production of unsustainable palm oil contributes to deforestation and biodiversity loss in the world’s rainforests, causing wildlife such as orangutans, tigers, and hornbills to lose their homes.

Learn more about supporting companies leading the way in using sustainable palm oil: torontozoo.com/palmoil. These companies are committed to using certified sustainable palm oil, helping to protect wild spaces and the incredible wildlife that depends on them.

Together, we can help make sustainable palm oil the norm and protect a future for orangutans in the wild 🦧💚 #TORangutans #SeeThemSaveThem
