Sandra Bullock is opening up about the loss of her longtime partner, Bryan Randall, who died in 2023 after a private battle with ALS. 🤍

During a subscriber exclusive episode of ‘SmartLess’, Bullock candidly spoke about what it was like to care for Randall while keeping his diagnosis a secret from the public. “I wasn’t allowed to speak about it. That was the request, and I honored it,” she shared. “I know why he asked me not to… It isolated me in the process.”

Keeping his condition private also left Bullock to carry the “huge weight” of his diagnosis. “I wasn’t even allowed to tell Amanda [Anka],” she said, referring to Jason Bateman’s wife. “I wasn’t allowed to tell anybody. My sister was the only one who knew for a while.”

Looking back, Bullock described the experience of keeping Randall’s diagnosis a secret as “pretty dark,” especially as she was already navigating the isolation and uncertainty of the pandemic with her children.

“My person left a lot earlier than the body left. I don’t think I ever dealt with that until after he passed.”

The full episode of ‘SmartLess’ will be available on all platforms on Aug 24th.
