Esports Program Banquet (1/2) 🥂

If you told me 5 years ago, I, an incoming student to ut_dallas, would in my first semester join utdesports and later help run and lead an entire national-titled esports program, I wouldn’t ever believe you. 

Flash forward to years later, and we gather at the end of the year to celebrate another year of our program, talented student-athletes / esports players, army of student staff, and one of the largest esports communities across all of collegiate. 

We broke records that were never even on our list to reach in our first few years. Doubling our Varsity Esports Teams from not just Overwatch and League of Legends, but now: Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League, Smash Bros. Ultimate, and VALORANT — to winning the university’s first athletic national championship title. From creating a Content Creator Program that helped passionate students pursue their dreams to building an entire Broadcast & Production Team (and now even having our own dedicated Content Studio on campus). 

I think that’s the cool thing about my role these past years as Student Director of Esports but also bittersweet — I’ve been able to see generations of talented individuals come through our program, leave a legacy, grow expontentially, and become part of our family. 

I can’t thank UTD, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Esports Program enough for everything — From working full-time as a social media & marketing manager for a brand like complexity and working previously with opticgaming and evilgeniuses and discord. Everything that I’ve been able to accomplish came from this program. 

Thank you utdesports for not just being a huge part of my life, but also my second family. 🤍🫶
