Back-to-school season is about more than supplies and schedules—it's also a time to prioritize mental health and well-being. This month, we're featuring Caring for Denver grantees that are helping young people and families access the care and support they need to succeed. 

Grantee Spotlight: Savio

Healing happens when families heal together.

For nearly 60 years, Savio has helped children and families navigate trauma through evidence-based, in-home mental health services that strengthen relationships and keep families together. By meeting families where they are, Savio reduces barriers to care while providing individualized, trauma-informed support that builds long-term resilience.

With support from Caring for Denver, Savio is expanding its capacity to deliver specialized trauma treatments, including Trauma Systems Therapy (TST), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These family-centered approaches help children and caregivers process trauma, develop healthy coping skills, and strengthen the supportive relationships that are essential for healing.

By investing in both clinical expertise and family-centered care, Savio is helping more Denver youth and families recover from trauma, build resilience, and create brighter futures together.
