## Caption

Mucho antes de vivir un embarazo, muchas ya tenemos una idea de cómo se supone que va a sentirse. La construimos con historias de otras mujeres, consejos, advertencias y una conversación que suele empezar por todo aquello que va a cambiar.

Pero después llega la experiencia propia y, como tantas cosas importantes en la vida, resulta ser mucho más compleja, personal y sorprendente de lo que nos habían contado.

Quise escribir sobre esa otra parte de la conversación, desde lo que he vivido durante estos meses de mi embarazo.

Long before experiencing pregnancy ourselves, many of us already have an idea of what it’s supposed to feel like. We build it from other women’s stories, advice, warnings, and a conversation that so often begins with everything that is going to change.

But then comes our own experience and, like so many important things in life, it turns out to be far more complex, personal, and surprising than we were ever told.

I wanted to write about that other side of the conversation, from what I’ve experienced throughout these months of my pregnancy.
