❎MYTH: We haven’t had a storm yet, so we’ll be fine this year.

✅FACT: A quiet start to hurricane season does not mean a quiet finish. We’re approaching the peak of Atlantic hurricane season which typically occurs between mid-August and mid-October, with the statistical peak arriving Sept. 10.

🌀Some of the storms that have had the greatest impact on our region in recent years—including Irma, Ian, Helene and Milton—arrived in September or October.

Don’t let a quiet stretch create a false sense of security. Review your plan, check your emergency supplies, know your evacuation level and continue monitoring trusted weather sources.

Stay vigilant. Stay prepared. Hurricane season continues through Nov. 30.
