Fashion designer Kenneth Cheang’s collection, NOSTALGIA, draws inspiration from the 1983 film Nostalghia. Through an exploration of “homeland,” “distance,” and “yearning,” he translates his feelings for Hong Kong into a poem written through clothes. Rather than re-creating specific scenes from the movie, the collection extracts its emotions and rhythm, transforming them into a sensory language unique to his relationship with the city.

“Through this collection, I want to present the Hong Kong that I see,” Kenneth explains. In his eyes, nostalgia does not need to be explicit. Instead, it lingers in the air, the humidity, the light, and the traces left behind by time. He translates these sensations into a design language where fabric becomes paper, rust acts as ink, stitches serve as words, and the body is a vessel for memory.
