The Spider-Man star has once again shown his love for his former MCU co-star, recently naming RDJ’s Iron Man as his GOAT superhero while promoting The Odyssey alongside Matt Damon.⁠

Holland described Downey Jr. as the “perfect person” for the role, having grown up watching him as Tony Stark before eventually starring alongside him in the MCU himself.⁠

RDJ played Tony Stark from 2008’s Iron Man through to Avengers: Endgame in 2019, with his character also becoming a mentor to Holland’s Peter Parker.⁠
