Can’t stay low on the ice? It may not be a technique problem—it may be a position problem.

A strong skating position requires four key qualities:

01 — Ankle dorsiflexion
02 — Hip flexion and rotation
03 — Hip strength at skating-specific angles
04 — Single-leg control

If you can’t access or control these positions off the ice, maintaining them at speed becomes much harder.

Complete the 8-minute protocol:

• Knee-to-wall — 8/side
• 90/90 hip switch — 6/side
• Lateral split-squat hold — 20 sec/side
• Controlled single-leg squat — 5/side

Perform 2 rounds, 2–3 times per week.

Access the position. Own the position. Transfer it to the ice.

Save this post, train the protocol and retest in 14 days. Send it to a teammate who keeps standing up in their stride.
